Federal Skilled Worker Program
The Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) program is one of the three programs contained within Canada’s Express Entry system for processing immigration applications. The FSW program allows candidates with foreign work experience and no connections to Canada to apply for permanent residency.
How Federal Skilled Workers Program Works:
This program has minimum requirements for:
- skilled work experience
- language ability
- education
Applicants must meet all the minimum requirements to be eligible.
Selection factors
If applicant meets all the minimum requirements, then they will be assessed on the followings:
- age
- education
- work experience
- a valid job offer
- English and/or French language skills
- adaptability (how well they are likely to settle here)
These factors are part of a 100-point grid used to assess eligibility for the Federal Skilled Worker Program. Applicant earn points for how well they will do in each of these 6 factors.
The current pass mark is 67 points.
