Student & Work Visa For International Students

2 - Study in Canada: Student & Work Visa

Welcome to The Black Bear Canadian Immigration Services, where we guide international students through the process of studying in Canada. This overview provides essential information on student visas, work opportunities during studies, post-graduation work permits, and pathways to permanent residency. Please note that immigration requirements can change frequently; this information is for general guidance, and you should always consult a qualified immigration consultant or official government sources for the latest regulations.

  1. Student Visa

To study in Canada, you’ll need a student visa (study permit). The Black Bear can assist you with the application process, ensuring you meet all requirements. You’ll need to provide proof of acceptance from a Designated Learning Institution (DLI), demonstrate sufficient funds for tuition and living expenses, and satisfy immigration officers that you meet Canada’s legal and health standards.

We help you navigate additional requirements, such as Temporary Resident Visas or Electronic Travel Authorizations (eTA), depending on your country of origin. Our team ensures your application is accurate and complete, minimizing delays and errors.

  1. Work While You Study

As a full-time student in Canada, you may be eligible to work on-campus or off-campus without a separate work permit. The Black Bear assists you in understanding the conditions for work, including location and program requirements. This flexibility allows you to gain valuable work experience while studying.

Additionally, you can bring your spouse or common-law partner to Canada, who can apply for an Open Work Permit, allowing them to work for any employer during your studies. Our team can help with the necessary applications to ensure a smooth process.

  1. Post-Graduation Work Permit

After you complete your studies, you may be eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). This permit allows you to work in Canada for up to three years, providing valuable experience and a pathway to permanent residency. The Black Bear guides you through the PGWP application process, ensuring you meet deadlines and maintain your student status while applying.

To qualify, you must apply for the PGWP within 90 days of receiving written confirmation of your graduation. Our team assists with the required documentation and ensures you meet the eligibility criteria.

  1. Pursuing Permanent Residency After Graduation

Canada offers pathways to permanent residency for international students who have completed their studies and gained work experience. The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is one such program, allowing foreign students to transition to permanent residency. The Black Bear can help you understand the CEC requirements and guide you through the application process.

Additionally, our services include assistance with family reunification, allowing you to bring family members to Canada, and restoration of status if your student permit expires
